ArcelorMittal recently installed a new Red Bud Precision Blanking Line at their processing plant in the Detroit suburb of Sterling Heights, Michigan.

Featured in the line are a Dual Motor Grip Feed System, “Pop-Up” Flatness Inspection Table and a Corrective Leveler with AutoFlat shape correction. AutoFlat is a patented control system that reads the shape of the strip and automatically adjusts the Leveler to achieve and maintain optimum flatness without operator intervention.

The line can process coils up to 60" (1524 mm) wide with weights up to 40,000 lb (18,144 kg) and consists of a Coil Stage & Load System, Uncoiler, Peeler Breaker, Crop Shear, “AutoFlat” Leveler, “Pop-Up” Flatness Inspection Table, Film Applicator, “Hands Free” Thread System, Dual Motor Grip Feed, Shear, Drop Stacker/Diverter, Part Diverter, and Stack Table.
