Battershill Steel Industries has received a Red Bud High Speed Multi-Cut Blanking Line for their service center located in Alrode, South Africa. According to Managing Director Ross Teichmann of Garrison Steel, the new line should be up and running by the end of September. This purchase shows their commitment to be one of the premier South African suppliers of precision blanks.

The new line includes a Bradbury Hydraulic Leveler along with Red Bud's “Dual Action” Servo Controlled Grip Feed System. This system is capable of producing parts with length tolerances of ±.005" (.127 mm) and production rates reaching 400 FPM (122 MPM).

Also, incorporated into the line is Red Bud's patented CNC Programmable Slitter with

expandable arbors and a Digital Positioning System that automatically sets the horizontal clearances while each set of knives is positioned. Once positioned, the Slitter's arbors expand, locking the knives into position resulting in an average set up time of about two minutes per cut. This unique Slitter allows the line to process multiple back-to-back, multi-blanking jobs without the need for multiple Slitter Heads or additional set up personnel.

The line also features an automatic CNC Positioning Stacker that automatically positions the strip dividers and locks them into place while the Slitter is setting up.
