Coil Steels Processing located in Brisbane, Australia, a division of Coil Steels Group Pty Ltd, a large metal distributor and service center headquartered in Sydney Australia and owned by Commercial Metals Corporation headquartered in Dallas, Texas, has installed a Cut-To-Length/Blanking Line designed and built by Red Bud Industries, Red Bud, Illinois USA. After an extensive evaluation of equipment from Europe, Asia, and the United States, the Red Bud Blanking System was selected. The new close tolerance Blanking Line will address the ever growing demand from their customers for tighter tolerance parts.

The new line utilizes advanced set up and threading capabilities. The control system allows for one man hands free operation of the entire line. The line incorporates Red Bud’s patented Grip Feed Measuring System allowing the line to produce blanks with ±0.127 mm (.005") part length repeatability straight from coil. To further address tolerances, both the Grip Feed and Shear utilize camber compensation technology. This technology allows both machines to compensate for camber in the coil and influence the diagonal measurements to consistently produce very square parts. The line’s Stacking System features are a combination Air/Mechanical Drop Stacker. The multi-function flexibility of the Stacking System allows it to adapt to the specific application being processed. This also extends the functional thickness range of the Stacker and allows mark free stacking of all parts regardless of thickness. The Stacking System also incorporates a Part Diverter System. With the push of a button, the Part Diverter will divert parts from the main stack to a secondary holding area.

The line incorporates an 18 metric ton (19.8 tons) capacity Coil Lift, Uncoiler, Peeler/Breaker, 4 Hi Roller Leveler, Traverse Nibbler Crop Off System, Thread System, Grip Feed Measuring System, Shear, Air Stacker/Mechanical Drop Stacker, Part Diverter, Stack Table, and End Discharge Floor Conveyors.
