Phoenix Metals of Norcross, Georgia, has installed their fifth Red Bud Industries’ Precision Blanking Line at their service center in Charlotte, North Carolina. Although primarily purchased to process high strength material up to .312" (7.9 mm) thick, the line can also process material up to .375" (9.5 mm) when operating in start/stop mode.

The new line incorporates Red Bud’s Precision Heavy Gage Grip Feed System allowing Phoenix to process blanks with +.005" (.127 mm) length tolerances. The line also includes Red Bud’s Heavy Gage Drop Stacker with Automatic Part Diverter that allows the operator to automatically direct blanks over the top of the Stacker onto a separate table for inspection or for discarding. Dual Roller Levelers permit the line to process a wide range of material thicknesses.

The new line is capable of processing coils up to 60,000 pounds (27,216 kilograms) at a maximum width of 75" (1,905 mm) and a maximum thickness of .375" (9.5 mm). The line includes a Coil Stage & Load System, Uncoiler with Water Cooled Brake, Heavy Gage Peeler Breaker, Crop Shear, Dual Roller Levelers, Pop-Up Flatness Table, Film Applicator Rolls, Heavy Gage Grip Feed System, Variable Rake Shear, Drop Stacker with Part Diverter, Automatic Lowering Stack Table, and Side Discharge Rollouts.
