Serviacero Planos based in Leon, Mexico, since 1966, is expanding its product and services offering to include multi-blanking of surface critical materials. To help accomplish this expansion, Serviacero Planos built a new service center in the city of Querétaro, Mexico, and has installed a new Multi-Blanking Line from Red Bud Industries of Red Bud, Illinois. The new service center became operational in October 2004. The new line operates in conjunction with the Precision Blanking Line from Red Bud that Serviacero installed in 1997.

.135" (3.4 mm) thick, 72" (1,828 mm) wide coils weighing up to 60,000 lb (27,216 kg) at production speeds up to 175 FPM (53 MPM). The line features Red Bud’s CNC Programmable Slitter. The Slitter utilizes a Digital Knife Locating System to position the upper and lower knives. The operator simply

inputs strip widths into a Slitter set up program. The information is sent directly to the Knife Positioning System. The Positioner then automatically moves to the location of the first cut. The operator simply slides the knives into position. Once the knives are set, the Positioner automatically moves to the location of the next cut. Set up time typically requires less than two minutes per cut. Mechanically linked to Red Bud’s Servo Hydraulic Grip Feed Measuring System, the Slitter is capable of producing blanks with width and length tolerances of ±.005"(.127 mm).
The new line includes a Reel/Coil Stage & Load System, Peeler Breaker, 5-Hi Herr-Voss Leveler, Servo Hydraulic Grip Feed, CNC Programmable Slitter, Scrap Winders, Shear, Combination Drop/Strip Stacker with Part Diverter, Stack Table, and Side Discharge Rollouts.
