Servosteel of Dudley, West Midlands, United Kingdom, recently went online with the first SCS® Coil Line in Great Britain. The toll processor is planning on capturing new markets with the environmentally and budget friendly alternative to pickling and oiling designed and manufactured by Red Bud Industries, Red Bud, Illinois USA.

A SCS Cleaning System takes ‘down & dirty’ hot rolled black and gives it clean, smooth, highly paintable, rust resistant surface. The heart of this patented process is a controlled “brushing away” of all surface scale except for

a micro thin layer. SCS Cleaning Systems are available in both sheet or coil cleaning configurations.

The new line at Servosteel can process coils up to 72" (1,829 mm) wide and .315" (8 mm) thick with a coil capacity of 72,000 lb (32,659 kg). The line consists of a Coil Stage & Load System, Uncoiler, Heavy Gage Peeler Breaker, Tensioner System, Two Bradbury Roller Levelers, Alignment System, Tension Type Traversing Recoiler, and a Coil Removal/Banding Station.
