Red Bud Industries recently completed the installation of a 10-28 Gage (3.4-0.4 mm) Cut-To-Length Line at United Performance Metals' Hamilton, Ohio, service center headquarters. United Performance Metals is a leading supplier of specialty stainless steel and high temperature alloys and is the recent recipient of the “Achievement of Excellence” Award given by the Ohio Partnership for Excellence. The company plans to further expand their commitment to excellence by offering precision cut blanks cut to exact customer specifications with their new Red Bud Precision Blanking Line.

United Performance Metals' decision to go with a Red Bud design was chiefly determined by the surface critical material in which they specialize. “Our Precision Blanking Line is ideal for United Performance Metals”, said Jeff Herrell of Red Bud Industries. “Not only does it deliver ±.005" (.127 mm) length tolerances,

but the specially designed grippers on the Dual Motor Grip Feed System can process surface critical material without leaving a mark.” Herrell continued, “Since 1982, United Performance Metals has been processing surface critical materials like stainless steel and nickel alloys, and we're very pleased that a specialist like United Performance Metals has decided to go with one of our Red Bud Lines. We think it's a perfect match.”

In addition to the Dual Grip Feed System, the new line features a 50,000 lb (22,680 kg) Coil Stage & Load System, Herr-Voss Leveler, Mark Protection Film Applicator Rolls for top and bottom PVC application, and a complete Stacking System capable of producing “solid block” stacks. The company will use the new Cut-To-Length Line to produce flat precision blanks for the aerospace, automotive, medical, petro-chemical, and other industries.
