Morton Manufacturing Company of Libertyville, Illinois, recently purchased their second .135" (3.43 mm) Precision Blanking Line from Red Bud Industries, Red Bud, Illinois. Morton manufactures various anti-slip walking surfaces for their customers in the freight car, locomotive, construction, farm equipment, and industrial equipment markets.

Morton originally bought their first Red Bud Line in 1975. “Since that time, the line has served us well,” states Jeff Covert, Morton’s President. “We have always felt the line produces the best tolerances in the industry. This was important to us when we decided to buy the new line.”

The line will consist of a Coil Lift, Peeler Breaker, Straightener, Support Ramp, Edge Trim, Scrap Chopper, “Hands Free” Thread System, Dual Motor Grip Feed, Shear, Drop Stacker, and Automatically Lowering Stack Table.
