Job Description
• Perform various clerical duties
• Allocate expenditures to correct accounts according to departmental procedures
• Post journal entries to general ledger
• Assist with month/year end closing cycles
• Reconcile accounts
• Balance bank statements
• Prepare financial reports and accounting statements
• Serve as backup for payroll/prepare payroll reports
• Generate summary sheets/reports for use by management or outside accounting firm
• Proof accounting reports for clerical accuracy
• Work with outside accounting firm as needed to comply with applicable standards, procedures, and laws
• Provide assistance & support to company personnel
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications 
• Thorough understanding of bookkeeping practices and procedures and the ability to train others in related practices and procedures
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
• Familiarity with Sage 100 or other accounting software
• Strong ability to multitask
• High school diploma or equivalent required with some bookkeeping coursework; Associates degree in Business or Accounting preferred
